Announcing Grooveblender’s "C'mon" Remix Contest !

Calling all DJs and producers! Grooveblender is raising the stakes with his next remix contest. Grooveblender is looking for the ultimate jack of all trades to remix his unreleased hit ”C'mon.” His favorite remix will not only be included on Musika del Futuro’s official “C'mon” release, but the winning remixer will also receive: 1 (one) $50 Beatport pre-paid card, and 1 (one) Sony MDR-V700 DJ Headphones (value: $149).


Starting September 9th, 2011, users are able to download the remix parts of Grooveblender ”C'mon” for FREE directly from his SoundCloud page, remix it, and upload their finished track to SoundCloud for the voting round.


The stages

1. September 9th - September 30th: Download phase - Download the remix parts of ”C'mon” for FREE.

2. September 26th - October 24th: Upload/Submission phase - Upload your remix to SoundCloud for listening, judging.

3. November 1st - November 14th: Voting phase - Top 5 finalists are announced and contacted.

After a period of deliberation, the winner will be announced by November 30th, 2011.

Contest Rules

1. Download the remix parts to “C'mon” September 9th - September 30th, 2011. The stems are bundled for FREE on his SoundCloud page. NOTE: Remixes created using illegally obtained stems will be disqualified.

2. Remix the track into your chosen style. All genres are welcome.

3. Submit your remix to SoundCloud, provide link via email (thegrooveblender@gmail.com) and or directly on SoundCloud. MP3 file sizes are limited and may be no larger than 17 MB.

4. The submission phase begins on September 26th, 2011 at 12.01AM PST and ends October 24th, 2011 at 10.00PM PST.

5. The voting phase starts on November 1st, 2011 at 12.01AM PST and ends on November 14th, 2011 at 11.59pm PST.

6. The winning remix will receive: 1 (one) Release of the remix on Musika del Futuro Recordings, 1 (one) $50 Beatport pre-paid card, 1 (one) Sony MDR-V700 DJ Headphones (value: $149).

7. Remixes using “uncleared” samples will be disqualified. An “uncleared sample” is a musical work, loop or sample that is copyrighted (ie: you didn’t create it). Entrant(s) are free to use royalty-free loops, stems and samples and/or sounds the entrant(s) has originally created.

8. All remixes submitted for this Contest become the legal property of Grooveblender and Musika del Futuro Recordings. Your remix contest submission becomes the legal property of the record label hosting the competition as protection against the release of unauthorized remixes. Upon request entrant will supply Grooveblender or Musika del Futuro Recordings a 16 bit, 44.100 khz, WAV quality master file.

9. All trademarks and logos are protected. All rights of the producer and the owner of the recorded work are reserved. Unauthorized copying, hiring, renting, public performance and broadcasting of this record, remix or remix parts is prohibited.

10. Neither Grooveblender nor Musika del Futuro Recordings accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, liability, injury or upset caused to or suffered by you as a result of entering the competition or winning the prize. Grooveblender nor Musika del Futuro Recordings further accept no liability for any damage caused to any person’s computer or other electronic device relating to or resulting from downloading any materials, including so called computer viruses, in connection with this competition. Nothing shall exclude us from our liability for death or personal injury as a result of our negligence.

11. Release and Indemnity: By completing and submitting an entry for the Contest, Participant agrees to abide by the terms of these official rules and the decisions which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to the Contest. Except where prohibited by law, each winner consents to the use of their name, likeness (including photographs and video of participant), and entry (with the exception of the winner’s contact information, including address, telephone number and email address) in any manner by Sponsor Parties without any further consent or compensation, unless prohibited by law. Sponsor Parties shall not be responsible for any damages, taxes, or expenses that any winner might incur as a result of the Contest or receipt of any prize. All Contest participants and winners agree that Sponsor Parties will have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, liabilities, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with participation in the Contest or acceptance, possession, or use of any prizes.

12. Your submission of a remix in this Contest constitutes your agreement to these Rules.
